Football
Two WPCSS teams made deep runs in the the 4A NCHSAA Football Championships both falling to the eventual 4A State Champion, New Bern.
Millbrook advanced to the Regional Round while Rolesville met New Bern in the 4th Round.Â
Men's Cross Country
Green Hope edged Charlotte Catholic 124-166 in the team count, winning the Falcons third Men’s Cross Country 4A State Championship. It was the Falcons first team title since 2017. Senior Gavin Hansen led the way for Green Hope, finishing third overall in a time of 15:40.70. Luke Young was the second highest finishing Falcon on the day, crossing the line in 16:21.24 and 21st place. Fellow Senior Liam Young was not far behind in 25th as he finished the course in 16:22.58.4

Men's Soccer
In the 4A NCHSAA Men’s Soccer Championships, Apex Friendship advanced to the Regional Round before losing to eventual champs Cardinal Gibbons.
Women's Dual-Team Tennis
In the 2022 4A WOMEN’S TENNIS DUAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, the Green Hope Falcons beat Myers Park 5-4.Â
Green Hope’s Brianna Stewart, a freshman, took home the tournament’s most valuable player award. The state title is Green Hope’s fourth as a program and its first since 2018, when the Falcons won the final of three consecutive championships. Â

Women's Individual Tennis
In the NCHSAA 2022 Women’s Tennis Individual Championships Green Hope’s Olivia Corcoran defeated Samantha Slowik from Jordan in a challenging three-set match 4-6, 6-0, 6-4. Corcoran claimed the Falcons’ first individual State Championship since Anna Rico and Sophia Gray won the doubles crown in 4A in 2018. It was just the second Singles Championship in program history.
Julianne Izod and Riley Jennings claimed the first individual tennis championship for Apex Friendship as they cruised by Anjali Tatini and Alexandra Dewey from Page 6-3, 6-1

Volleyball
Millbrook sweeps past Sun Valley behind 26 kill performance by Horne. Millbrook concluded the year 29-1. The Wildcats were 11-0 in the Northern Athletic 4A where they won the conference championship.
The Wildcats won the program’s fourth State Championship and appeared in the
State Championship for the first time since 1995.
The 2022 4A Volleyball Sportsmanship Awards was presented to Sy’Ann Jones from
Millbrook.
Other WCPSS teams to advance in the playoffs included Middle Creek
4th Round and Green Level 4th round losing to eventual champs Millbrook.
