DragonFly Registration Issues:
If you are having issues with DragonFly make sure you ONLY have Sports for the current 2025-2026 School Year checked & Not any sports from previous years. Otherwise DragonFly may not allow school officials to see you in the current year even if you can see your own registration. For any other issues please email wmedinas@wcpss.net
Sports Tryout Information:

Winter Sports Tryouts are from Nov. 17th-21st. In order to try out, students must be cleared in DragonFly to participate. For Safety & Security reasons, Tryouts are Closed to spectators. Only approved Staff & students are allowed in the building or on the athletic fields. Thank you for your understanding. Staff will be reviewing & approving DragonFly on an ongoing basis from Nov. 3rd thru 14th. See below for Information on how to Register in DragonFly…Â
Here is the information needed for those interested in tryouts Boys’ & Girls’ Basketball.
- Tryouts for Fall Sports begin on Monday, November 17th After School until 4:45 and will run through Friday, November 21st.
- Ligon students may have an in-school information session the week before; listen for announcements…Â Â
- (Moore Square students will get any info from Coach Scheck)
- Parents need to Register their Child(ren) in DragonFly by Sport(s) & Current Grade Level. (Use High School Graduation Date)
- Registration must be ‘Green’ to be 100% complete in order to tryout. (Admin will start ‘clearing’ students in November)

- Parents should complete all DragonFly Information online & upload current copies of a Physical Exam & Medical Eligibility
- Pages 6 & 7 of the packet need to be completed and signed by a licensed medical professional; all other forms are digital.
- Students must meet All Eligibility Requirements and be ‘Cleared’ prior to November 17th in order to participate in Tryouts.

Students meet in the Ligon Gym daily after school and should come prepared to dress out in appropriate gear for their sport. Students are welcome to bring their own Water Bottles to help with hydration breaks. Please make sure all personal equipment is well marked to prevent loss.
Parents are asked to pick-up their child(ren) by 4:45 daily along Haywood St. in front of the Ligon Auditorium.

SPORT PHYSICALS & Accident Insurance
All physicals are good for one year. There are several area locations to choose from, some that take walk-ins, and are also low cost if you cannot get into your Regular Doctor’s Office:

Information on Student Accident Insurance:
If your child is involved in the following activities, he or she must have accident insurance:
- athletic programs — whether interscholastic or intramural
- marching bands
- school patrols
- cheerleaders
- any activity group making an overnight or extended trip
