Parents/Guardians – 2024/2025 East Cary Athletic Updates

2024-2025 Sport Season Dates

Fall Sports Season – (football, girls soccer, volleyball, or cheerleading)
The first day of tryouts for Football, Girls Soccer, & Volleybal will start on September 3rd.
The first day of tryouts for Cheerleading will start on September 5th.
Winter Sports Season – (cheerleading, girls’ & boys’ basketball) The first of tryouts for Girls & Boys Basketball will start on November 18th
Spring Sports Season – (Track & Field, Boys’ Soccer, & Softball) The first day of tryouts will start on February 24th

East Cary Athletic Updates

Parents/Guardians –

1. Forms Submission: All 7th and 8th graders must submit their WCPSS Athletic Participation Forms (https://www.wcpss.net/Page/1465). Forms can be submitted via DragonFly (https://www.dragonflymax.com/) or directly to Mr. Smith (msmith23@wcpss.net) by August 29th. All 6th graders who are interested in becoming a team manager this year, please stop by and see Mr. Smith in the 700 building or ask your homeroom teacher for an application. Once completed, please turn your application in to Mr. Smith prior to Friday, August 30th.

2. Review Eligibility: Make sure to read the first page of the forms to understand WCPSS academic eligibility and the absence policy.

3. Physical Examinations: Remember, physical exams are valid for 395 days from the date of completion. Ensure all forms are updated each year, even if you submitted them last year.

4. WINTER TRYOUTS:

– Girls & Boys Basketball:

Girls tryouts will be held on November 18th, 20th, & 25th from 3-5pm.

– Boys tryouts will be held on November 19th, 21st, & 25th from 3-5pm.

Cheerleading will resume practice. Dates will be announced as we get closer to tryouts.

Please arrange pick between 5:10 – 5:30. Participants will be escorted to the carpool area after tryouts. If your child is a walker, please provide documentation prior to them leaving campus. There will be NO after-school activity buses provided.

Scroll down to the bottom & you can click on the directions on how to sign up for free & complete your account through Dragonfly. ALL forms must be turned in (5) days prior to the first day of tryouts.
