Southeast Raleigh is off to a 2-0 start this season after a 38-12 win over Dudley in the Wake County Football Showcase at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday.
NC State commit Christian “Duck” Freeman and James Adams IV both scored two touchdowns. Adams was named the Player of the Game.
Freeman started the scoring late in the first quarter when he broke a 34-yard run for a touchdown, giving the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. But the Panthers responded immediately on the ensuing kickoff with a 98-yard return for a touchdown by Kingston Davenport.
Dudley attempted a two-point conversion, but failed. Southeast Raleigh led 7-6 after one quarter.
On the first play of the second quarter, Humberton Salinas connected on a 35-yard field goal attempt to extend Southeast Raleigh’s lead to 10-6, then the defense got in on the scoring on the next Dudley possession.
Zeek Stanley picked off a Dudley pass and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown, giving the Bulldogs a two-score lead for the first time in the game, 16-6.
Adams added a one-yard touchdown run late in the quarter as Southeast Raleigh took a 24-6 lead into halftime.
Adams’ second touchdown came in the third quarter when he caught an 11-yard pass from Tre Belcher for a score.
Dudley’s lone offensive touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Michael Boone Jr. broke a 47-yard touchdown pass from Zamari Williamson. That pulled Dudley within 31-12 with 8:28 left in the game, but Southeast Raleigh slammed the door on any comeback.
Freeman capped off the scoring with four minutes left, crossing the goal line with a 17-yard run. His second touchdown of the night gave Southeast Raleigh a 38-12 lead.
The Bulldogs are off to a fast start in 2026, winning the first two games against Enloe and Dudley by a combined 86-12 score.
Southeast Raleigh returns to action on Sept. 3, with a home game against East Wake.
Dudley is now 0-2 on the season after losses to Cardinal Gibbons and Southeast Raleigh. The Panthers’ next game is at home against Hillside in Week 3.
